Pool Cleaning Services - Wilmington, NC
![]() The filter in your system is like the lungs of your entire swimming pool or spa. In order to keep the Sparkling Clean Pools we are known for throughout the Wilmington and surrounding areas we follow a 18 step cleaning process the ensure that nothing is missed and your system is functioning as designed. You may be asking yourself what the filter does or why is it needed. The reason that a filter is placed in your system is to clean the water in your pool by capturing contaminates and debris in the folds of the filter. As time passes these folds can become full with these contaminates and cause undo stress on your entire pool filtration system including that expensive pump. Not only does it decrease the life span of your pool's support system, a dirty/clogged filter keeps water from flowing freely decreasing the amount of water that it can filter and also increasing the pressure within the filter housing. This decrease in water flow will lead to decontaminates building up on the surface of your pool that can result in more costly repair/maintenance solutions. If your pool has reached this point please contact us about our drain and acid wash or tile cleaning services.
The manufacture recommendation for swimming pool filter cleaning is to have your filter cleaned on a monthly basis during the summer months and to not go more than every other month during winter months if you pool is operational. This frequency is why pool filter cleaning is part of our Monthly Maintenance Plan but we do offer it as a stand alone service as well. If you are not performing all 18 steps required to properly clean your filter you could be putting undo stress on your entire system. Let us handle this mundane task for you so that it is never a concern if your filter is functioning properly. |

One quick tip that will save you lots of time and hassle should you decide to change and clean your pool filter yourself is to use grease or other lubricants to lubricate the o-ring that is between the lid and body of your filter housing. This serves two purposes as it will extend the life of the o-ring which is critical to keeping your filter from leaking. The other purpose this does is it will help to keep the o-ring seated during the pool filter re-assembly process. If you o-ring does come out of the area it is intended to stay in during the re-assembly process you will not only damage the o-ring making it less effective at sealing the housing but your housing will leak most likely leaving you soaked as it begins to build pressure. This can all be avoided by calling or contacting us today so that all you have to be concerned about is how to keep the neighbors from sneaking into your Sparkling Clean Pool that looks better than new.
